2009 AWARD BANQUET


Wayland Area Chamber celebrates “A Night of Elegance”

Though the evening of Thursday, December 10, 2009 was snowy and blustery outside, it did not hamper the evening for almost 60 chamber members who helped celebrate the Wayland Area Chamber of Commerce’s Annual Award Dinner, “A Night of Elegance.”  The annual event was held at the Bay Pointe Inn and Restaurant featured guest speaker Tony Rubleski from the Mind Capture Group. This end of the year tradition, is intended to for networking over dinner and desert, while recognizing three chamber members for the extra effort that they have extended over the past year.

The President’s Choice Award was presented to Mike and Clare Vilenski, owners of The Goldsmith Shop in Wayland. The Vilenski’s demonstrates outstanding leadership in bringing others together in the process of developing, sharing, and moving into a shared vision.  Mike and Clare are known for leading the way and achieving  goals that help others and their community.

The Business of the Year Award was presented to Ed Koehn Ford of Wayland. This award is presented to a business that demonstrates growth and success through innovation, hard work, and exceptional customer service. Ed Koehn Ford, as well as the Koehn family, are actively involved in contributing to the success of the community as a whole by their contribution of time, energy and resources. 

The Community Service Award winner was the Laurels of Sandy Creek for performing outstanding volunteer service to the Wayland Area Community.
