The Wayland Area Chamber of Commerce  held its Awards’ Banquet Monday, December 10th at the Bay Pointe Inn & Restaurant at  Gun Lake.  The purpose of the Banquet is to celebrate excellence in the surrounding Wayland business community.  « Many of our businesses contribute daily to the success of our community » said Chamber director Jackie Straub.  The Chamber Board feels it is important to celebrate these efforts and will be hosting similar events every year.

Three awards were presented during the evening as a result of nominations received by the Chamber membership.

Community Service Business – Hardings Market of Wayland
The award was presented to store manager Steve Holland

The Presidents’ Leadership Award was presented to
Nan Olney – Branch Manager of United Bank-Wayland

The Business of the Year Award was presented to
Dr. Ron House & the staff of House Family Chiropractic

Guest Speaker for the evening was Mayor George Heartwell of the City of Grand Rapids.
