Awesome Chocolates, located in the Daily Brews Coffee Café in Downtown Wayland, has been busy keeping their Awesome Apples on the shelves 
lately. Owner, Henry Klok Jr. said he looks forward to apple season each year when he creates the locally famous “Awesome Apple.” Klok uses only the freshest picked apples from his own apple orchard. The community, and beyond, anticipate this time of year annually stated Denise Behm, Executive Director of the Wayland Area Chamber of Commerce. The apples are crisp and fresh, then chocolate, caramel and nuts are wrapped around the apple (which are big enough to share). However, don’t delay in purchasing one of these “awesome” treats as they are only offered until Halloween.
Klok, a retired truck driver, enjoys perfecting his chocolate and caramel and seeing the enjoyment his candy brings to others. Klok has a strong following, especially during apple season when people can’t get enough of the famous treats.
Besides the caramel apples made each fall, Klok creates a variety of chocolates including white, dark, and mixed. The candies include a variety of fruit, nuts, and/or caramel and can be purchased by the piece or in pre-made boxes. Klok’s candy has also won awards – most notably taking a second place award at a prestigious chocolate event at Michigan State.
During the holidays, Klok offers specialty boxes to coincide with the special celebrations and events. Klok can also create special labels for business grand opening events, weddings, showers, and more.
Awesome Chocolates headquarters are located inside the Daily Brews Coffee Café at 128 S Main in Downtown Wayland. They can also be found at chocolate shows, events, and at Grand Rapids Coffee Roasters.
