We are pleased to announce the Grand Marshals of the 2016 Chamber Christmas Parade are Mr. & Mrs. Jay L. and Diane Smith. Mr. and Mrs. Smith are true pillars in our community. Mr. Smith’s family started Smith Lumber Company in Wayland in 1898. The store provided items used by the local farmers and was conveniently located next to the railroad tracks. Jay also served on the chamber board in the 1970’s. Mrs. Smith served 16 years on the Wayland Union School Board and helped begin and serve 25 years with the Wayland Union Education Foundation. Diane also helped form the Wayland Christian Neighbors Food Pantry. It is our sincere honor to have this year’s Grand Marshals as Mr. & Mrs. Jay L and Diane Smith. Please look for Mr. & Mrs. Smith leading our Christmas Parade on Saturday, December 3rd at 11:00am in downtown Wayland.
