From now until approximately Halloween, Awesome Chocolates in Wayland, is creating their famous “Awesome Apples” which consist of chocolate, caramel and pecans wrapped around a crisp freshly picked Michigan apple. Besides the Awesome Apple, a variety of other apples will be available consisting of various toppings, nuts, crushed cookies and more. Some of the larger apples have been known to weigh three pounds by the time they are dipped in the toppings. According to Chamber Director Denise Behm, “Because of the large size of the apple, many people will enjoy the treat with a friend or all to themselves over a couple of different sittings. Awesome Chocolate customers anxiously await this time of year to purchase one of these annual treats from the local candy man.” After being awarded second place in the Chocolate Party at Michigan State University, Awesome Chocolates has enjoyed new customers who have to come in to taste firsthand the award winning chocolate.
