VFW Post 7581 Community Event Announced – Public Invited

The Wayland Area Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors are excited to present two public community open house events to be held on Tuesday, June 24th at 9:00am and 6:00pm. The one-hour events are open for all to attend to learn more about our local VFW Post 7581, meet the VFW Post Commander Steve Eernisse and former Commander and Purple-Heart Recipient Sgt. Michael Gower.  Flags will also be available for purchase during the event and those who wish to dispose of used flags are welcome to bring them to be disposed of properly.

The presentations will be held in the Windsor Woods Community Center, 1135 W Superior St, in Wayland. During the event, guests will enjoy a short presentation, by Gower and Eernisse, with time allotted for questions. Refreshments will be available including a continental breakfast for the morning session and assorted desserts for the evening session.  This event is proudly sponsored by Greenridge Realty (Patty Koval) and Edward Jones Investments (David Hart).

For almost 70 years, the Wayland VFW has been providing support to the Wayland area veterans. This year will bring many changes to the Post and the success of those changes will determine the future of Wayland VFW Post 7581.The Veterans hope to lead off our community parades and provide Honor Guard Services at funerals for many years to come; those are only a couple of examples of the many services they provide our community.

In order to prepare for the event, RSVP’s would be appreciated by emailing the chamber Executive Director Denise Behm at denise@waylandchamber.com or by phone at 269-792-9246.
