The Scholarship Committee looked for a variety of experiences, involvements, volunteering, and short essay answers when deciding whom to select for this scholarship. Several items stood out with Elizabeth’s application including her time spent as an intern at Wayland City Hall, volunteering for food drives, filling sand bags, planning community fundraising dinners, and assisting many charities.
With the essay questions, Elizabeth explained how she prides herself in helping others and wants to make a difference in the world. She plans to continue to donate her education at Michigan Technological University majoring in Biomedical Engineering. The Wayland Area Chamber of Commerce is proud of Elizabeth and wish her the best in her future endeavors.
